The White and Portabello Mushroom grow kit from Mushroom Kits.

Kitty recently bought me a Mushroom growing kit from the hardware store that are produced by a company called Mushroom kits.  I have tried one of these kits before, or at least a similar brand, yet I have never had any success with them.   I have also talked to at least 6 other people who have also told me that they have tried them with No success.  I would not have bought one of these, especially as I am trying to grow mushrooms from spores into coffee grounds (I was going to write about this when I actually get some results to write about).  As Kitty bought it I thought I would give it a try… who knows, I probably screwed the last one up.  Giving it another shot might be worth it.  As you can see in the above image , the kit contains the mycelium infused grow medium as well as compost to spread on top.  The instructions are very basic, which I suspect could be a problem.  Regardless, I followed them and placed the box into my workshop.  You can see it in the below image, recently wet from a spray gun.

We will see what becomes of this.  I am not too optimistic about getting any mushrooms, yet I will be happy to be proven wrong.

  1. I have tried 3 times with these kits now. The first time, nothing. The second I got one small harvest, but this last box I got 3 good harvests from it, then unfortunately I let it go to dry and that was it. Hopefully you have luck with your kit this time Daniel
